Paragliding in Nepal

Paragliding

Paragliding is a relatively new adventure sport in Nepal. It is truly wonderful and fulfilling experience in this Himalayan country. You can experience unparalleled scenic grandeur as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites, while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayas.

The main area for flying in Nepal is the Annapurna region, more specifically the Pokhara valley. This lakeside town is Nepal’s second “city”, nestled at the foot of the Annapurna Himal. The views are unsurpassed here. Gliding is a weather dependent sports and the flying season in Nepal commences from November through February, the best months being November and December. The takes off point for these flights is Sarankot (1592m.), which also offers prime views of Fewa lake and mountains at sunrise and sunset (provided the skies are clear) and the landing is by the Fewa lake. No previous experience is required as qualified pilots provide a short briefing before launching.

Annapurna Panorama Flights

Cloud buster
This midday flight gives you the thrill of high flight as we thermal up above Sarangkot in the company of eagles and vultures. It takes from 30minutes to 1 hour. We land by the lake.

Cross-country
This offers you the chance to experience flying from one valley to another. Using thermals, clouds and birds to guide us, we take you on an unforgettable journey north of Pokhara towards the big mountains. We fly as long as we can and aim to return to Pokhara that afternoon.

Acrobatic Flying
The biggest shot of adrenaline in the Himalayas. See what our world class aero pilots can do with a wing as you loop, spin and spiral through the air. Performing maneuvers are called “Helicopter” “SAT” “Back-fly” “Tumble” and “Wingover”. This 10 to 20 minutes flight will leave your breathless.
